Breast cysts are benign fluid-filled sacs in the mammary glands. Most cysts are formed by fluid accumulation in the ducts of the mammary glands and duct obstruction (locally enlarged and altered ductal part). They occur at any age. They vary in size.
The cause of breast cysts
  • stress, emotional shocks;
  • mental and physical overload;
  • overweight;
  • hormonal disorders;
  • menstrual cycle disorders;
  • taking hormonal drugs;
  • injury;
  • exposure to ultraviolet rays.
Types of breast cysts
  • atypical cysts;
  • fibrous cysts;
  • sebaceous cysts;
  • ductal cysts;
  • multi-chamber cysts.
Diagnostics Large cysts are usually detected by palpation. If the cysts are somewhat smaller, they can be detected by mammography or ultrasound. Cysts are distinguished from malignant tumors by their smooth, even edges.
